It features a matte polycarbonate and advanced ABS composite outer shell, injection-molded shell, quick-drying, moisture-wicking washable liner, stainless steel mesh, comfortable padded harness with synthetic suede liner, hook-and-loop adjustment and Fastex buckle, two front vents, one rear vent and two center vents. MIPS
Founded in 1996 by a neurosurgeon and a researcher at the Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden, the Multidirectional Impact Protection System (MIPS) is designed to add protection against rotational movements transmitted to the brain during oblique impacts to the head. Rotational motion is a combination of rotational energy and rotational forces due to angular acceleration, both of which increase the risk of brain damage. MIPS' extra protection has been independently proven to reduce rotational motion by redirecting energies and forces that would otherwise be transmitted to the brain.
